Hot Tub Moving is an extreme physical operation requiring reverse engineering tools. A standard 6 to 8-person spa can weigh between 800 and 1000 lbs (empty), and its acrylic shell will crack under the slightest asymmetrical pressure point. Attempting to lift it yourself or drag it across the lawn inevitably results in massive structural damage.
The M&M Moving specialty team arrives with a strict mechanical methodology. We tilt the jacuzzi vertically onto a specialized low-profile Spa Dolly or Spa Sled. This dolly is designed to distribute the load and navigate standard garden gates, gravel paths, or steep inclines. We protect the cabinetry and electronic components (pumps, filters) against any moisture infiltration or impact damage.
Backyard Logistics
The biggest challenge is rarely the road transport, but rather the extraction from the old backyard and insertion into the new one. Narrow enclosures, low pergolas, electrical wires, elevated patios, and wooden decking are common obstacles. Our teams evaluate ground support points (to ensure your interlocking paving stones don't collapse) and master asymmetrical lifting, using pneumatic lifting jacks (Spa Wedge) to initiate the initial tilt.
Preparing your hot tub
Before we arrive, the tub must be drained and dry, and the power disconnected by a licensed electrician. Remove the cover and lifter if they are attached, and clear the path from the tub to the street: garden furniture, planters and anything on the side of the house. Send us photos of the backyard, gate and any steps during the quote so we bring the right sled and crew size.

The move was a white glove service, without unpacking. A team of three gentlemen moved our stuff very carefully and took good care of our new home, which is all hardwood that is easy to dent or scratch but it survived thanks to their care. They used blankets and wore booties, and were genuinely caring. The furniture assembly included a few complicated items , and stuff with hardware that went missing in the storage unit. They did all that while maintaining a professional and pleasant attitude. The day was hot reaching 32 degrees, in October, and they tirelessly went up and down the stairs. I also found Mo very easy to deal with, and he makes sure the client’s needs are met and works hard to deliver a very satisfactory moving experience. It’s a hard and thankless job to be honest, because the houses and furniture are both being built with materials that is easy to damage in Canada. Mo and his team are caring and would make you feel that you don’t have to worry about anything!

Because we move the spa standing on its side, we usually need 38 to 40 inches of clearance. If that is not possible, we can remove a fence section with your permission or bring in a crane to lift it over the house.
We place the spa exactly where you want it on your new concrete pad, deck or pavers. The final electrical connection is done by your electrician, and we do not perform levelling.
No. Before tilting, our crew checks inside the cabinet that no pump or pipe would take the spa's weight, and the tub is always laid on the side opposite the equipment bay to protect the machinery.
